Frequently asked questions

When will NotchPulse be available?

NotchPulse is in development. Follow along in the changelog; the pricing page opens for purchases at launch.

Is there a free version?

Yes. NotchPulse Free has no expiry and needs no account or payment info. Every download also includes 7 days of Pro. Compare Free and Pro.

What happens when my Pro trial ends?

NotchPulse becomes NotchPulse Free. You’re never charged — we don’t ask for a card — and nothing is deleted. Buy Pro any time to switch Pro features back on.

Is NotchPulse Pro a subscription?

No. Pro Lifetime is a single payment, with no monthly or yearly plans.

Do Free users get security updates?

Yes. Security updates reach everyone, and privacy and security features are never paid features.

Does it work on a Mac without a notch?

Yes. On Macs without a notch and on external displays, NotchPulse appears as a floating island at the top of the screen, with the same states and actions.

I didn’t get my license email.

It’s sent once Stripe confirms your payment, usually within a minute or two. Check spam, then email licenses@notchpulse.app from the address you used at checkout.

My download link expired.

Download links are valid for a limited time and a few uses, for your security. Email licenses@notchpulse.app and we’ll send you a fresh one.

I lost my license key.

We don’t store keys in readable form, so we can’t re-send the old one — we issue a new key to your purchase email instead. Your activated Macs keep working. Recover your license with your purchase email.

It says I’ve reached the device limit.

A Pro license covers up to three personal Macs. Deactivate an old Mac in Settings → License to move your license — here’s how to free up a slot, including for a Mac that’s lost or erased.

Does NotchPulse read my code or prompts?

No. It receives status only — “Claude needs permission”, “Claude finished”. Prompts, code, transcripts and diffs never leave your Mac. See the privacy policy.

Why doesn’t the notch let me approve Claude’s request?

On purpose. Approving a command from a small overlay makes accidental approvals too easy. In v1, the notch tells you a decision is needed and brings the right terminal forward, where you can see the whole command. An opt-in approval flow may come later.

Nothing shows up when I run the CLI.

Make sure NotchPulse is running — the CLI exits with code 3 if it isn’t. Then check that the command is linked onto your PATH, as described in the developer docs.

Will NotchPulse show up when I share my screen?

Anything marked sensitive — revenue, project names, error titles — is hidden while you present, and reactions pause. The Meeting workspace can switch on automatically when sharing starts.

How do I get a refund?

If NotchPulse isn’t right for you, email support@notchpulse.app within 14 days of purchase — no reason needed. Refunds go back through Stripe to your original payment method. Your Macs then return to NotchPulse Free; no data is deleted.
